Our Mission:
Student centered; excellence driven with a global mindset.
Our Vision For Learning:
All students will be prepared for success globally, through parental involvement, community collaboration, rigorous instruction, and continued collaboration and feedback, while focusing on college, career, and enlistment.
Parents, Faculty, Students and Community Members,
I want to extend to you and your family a warm welcome to Columbus High School. The high school years are an interesting time for our students to start choosing between college, career, or enlistment. High school years will provide many opportunities for our students and new skills will be acquired. Columbus High is committed to providing a challenging and rigorous curriculum that will prepare them for the college of choice, enlistment, and or career.
“If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.” – Barack Obama
In his quote, Former President Obama, powerfully conveys the message that we want our student to approach life with, and that is to keep walking in the path to graduate, work hard, and eventually, you will see success.
Here at Columbus High School, we are committed to student achievement. We believe that all students can achieve. Columbus High has many course selections for our students such as Dual Credit courses through our local colleges, History courses, Language Arts, Advanced Language Arts, Mathematics, and Sciences. High quality instruction is our top priority. Our slogan here is simple, “We Win!” We want our students to have a winning mindset. Believing that they can achieve their life goals and dreams.
Other opportunities for our students are provided through athletics and extracurricular programs. We believe all students should have the opportunity to get involved, feel like they belong, and can leave feeling they have attended one of the best high schools in the nation.
At Columbus High School, we will make decisions in the best interest of our students!
Thank You
Dexter Peterson, Principal
